Equity in Community Engagement Learning Community/Action Group

Community-based learning activities (Service Learning, Volunteer Efforts, Academic and non-Academic Internships, Service Projects, Practicum, and other community-based learning opportunities) are a high impact practice that are required by many programs at Humboldt for graduation.  The relationship between our Humboldt community and our surrounding, off-campus communities is a dynamic, changing and sometimes problematic context.  This affects students in inequitable ways.  The goal of this learning community is to involve faculty, staff and student support professionals to identify strategic opportunities for collaborative action and practice supporting each other in these processes.

The starting point for our Action Group/Learning Community will be the information aggregated from three equity inquiry sessions that we conducted over the course of Fall 2018.  Participants in these sessions explored issues in equity and community engagement.
